Cromer Christmas Lights
Cromer Christmas lights is an entirely volunteer led operation – from the people who organise and hang the lights, to the funding of the lights. They need your help:
Saturday 2nd Sept 10.30 to 12
Please pop into Cromer church for Coffee & Cake organised by the church in aid of the Cromer Christmas Lights Volunteers group.
Ist Sept until 31st October
Cromer Christmas Lights are one of three community projects short-listed for an award of £4000, £2000 or £1000 from Tesco’s Bag Fund. The more votes then more funding!
It’s easy – simply visit the Tesco store in Sheringham as many times as possible in September and October and make ANY value purchase and receive a token per transaction and vote for LIGHTS FOR A CROMER CHRISTMAS. Please tell your friends too!
The volunteers are in their 3rd year of an essential refurbishment programme to provide the town with brighter, better illuminations and reduce electricity costs. This year they are concentrating on the Suffield Park/schools area and minor roads such as Garden Street and others central to the Christmas celebrations in Cromer
7 September, from 7pm: Council Offices, North Lodge Park
Ever wondered what it would be like to be a member of the Cromer Christmas Lights Volunteers? They work hard throughout the year to make Cromer look great at Christmas. However, numbers have dwindled over the years through illness and age, and they could use some help. The tasks are varied, from making tea to directing traffic, manning stalls as well as putting up the lights and the trees. There will be something to suit you.
Let’s help the volunteers make if a brighter Christmas.

Broads in the Park
Sunday 10th September
2pm – 4pm
Any mention of The Broads and you probably start to think of boating on quiet waterways east of Norwich, passing through the reed beds searching for birds and wildlife.
Well think again!
The Broads are a fun, colourful, female singing trio who are coming to North Lodge Park, Cromer beside the cafe and boating lake, on Sunday afternoon 10th September. Join us from 2pm – 4pm for a fabulous afternoon of sing-along and perhaps, perhaps, perhaps (for all you Doris Day fans) a little dancing!
With nostalgic classics from the 40’s, 50’s and more, all sung in close harmony with a vintage vibe, come and spend a relaxing afternoon in the park by the sea while listening to The Broads. The tearoom is open all day from 10am serving hot and cold drinks plus a delicious array of home made cakes and Norfolk ice cream.
We look forward to seeing you there !

CROMER CARNIVAL OPEN MIC
This year we have teamed up again with Coast Arts and Rock the Lobster to bring an Open Mic to the park at the start of Cromer carnival week.
Saturday AUGUST 12th | 11am to 4pm
North Lodge Park, Cromer
Part picnic; part carnival; part DIY music. All afternoon fun.
ROCK THE LOBSTER will be in North Lodge Park, Cromer, giving performance artists a chance to perform.
The day is to enable local performers gain experience, improve their skills and, perhaps most importantly, enjoy themselves! There will be 15 minute sessions across the afternoon giving amateur performers a chance to demonstrate their talents and to give novices of all ages an opportunity to shine. If you wish to perform please bring your instrument(s) and back line, if required.
Come along to participate, or just bring a picnic and chill out while supporting the performers.
If you want to book a slot to perform, email openmic@coastarts.co.uk or just turn up on the day.
ROCK THE LOBSTER is a voluntary group that runs a regular open mic promoting all performing arts (including: live music, poets, magicians, dancers, etc). We are funded entirely by sponsorship and donations. RtL aims to give amateur performers a chance to demonstrate their talents and to give novices and children a go. This enables local performers to gain experience, improve their skills and, perhaps most importantly, enjoy themselves! RtL have two regular evenings; usually on the first and third Thursdays of the month. Please check our website rockthelobster.com for details.
Refill
Your cafe in the Park has signed up to Refill
Refill is a national, practical tap water campaign that aims to make refilling your bottle as easy, convenient and cheap as possible by introducing refill points on every street. We know water fountains can be expensive to install and maintain, so now friendly cafes, shops, hotels and businesses are welcoming you in to refill your water bottle – for free! Refill is currently happening in Bristol, Cornwall, Dorset, Devon, Bath and Bradford-on-Avon with Brighton, Norwich, Hunstanton and now CROMER!
How does it work?
Participating cafes, bars, restaurants, banks, galleries, museums and other businesses simply put a sticker in their window – alerting passers-by to the fact they’re welcome to come on in and fill up their bottle – for free! Download the free Refill rewards app to see where you can Refill on the go, or add new places to Refill yourself!
